The Fourteenth Century House
The last medieval house in San Daniele del Friuli
Where is
What it is and where it is
The Casa del Trecento is the only medieval building in the ancient village of San Daniele del Friuli. In the past it was home to the San Daniele Pawn Shop. Inside is the Military Historical Memorabilia Display Room, a small museum that collects artifacts, pennants, documents, photographs, posters, uniforms and postcards related to the military life of the Alpini in the world conflicts, in barracks and in the trenches. A fusion of ancient times and modern technology allows the house to be returned to citizens and visitors.
A bit of history
The 14th-century house has withstood the centuries and the 1976 earthquake. Once restored, it was entrusted to the management of the National Alpine Association of San Daniele del Friuli. Because of its long history, it has been recognized as a National Monument.
