What it is and where it is
Like many, during the spring period, I tried to work off excess calories for the coveted summer swimsuit test by doing some running every day. One time, instead of taking the same road that gets lost among the blooming fields of Vigolo Vattaro, I decide to continue toward Bosentino. At a certain point I take this scenic road that soars up from the old town, winding into the side of the mountain. As I run, the breathtaking view of Lake Caldonazzo opens up. I stop and breathe in the clean air at the top of my lungs. A moment of true well-being, in this precise place, to which I have devoted a little of my time every day since.
Why it is special
Here nature really takes center stage. Walking up the hill you have the sun on your face. Curious little animals sprout from the colorful bushes, following your steps with a watchful eye. And then, stopping for a moment, you look back toward the Vigolana, queen of the plateau. On the other side, the sheet of water of one of the most beautiful lakes in Trentino fills your eyes with the golden reflection of the sun. A place of well-being, where you can take a simple walk or do some healthy sports, alone or in a group.
Don't miss
Along this road you can organize a trekking session with friends and family. Starting from the center of Bosentino, in fact, you can take the climb and do the loop walk, passing by the Madonna del Feles, the castle of Vigolo Vattaro, the village of Vigolo itself, and finally, via a road that cuts through fields and woods, back to Bosentino. The complete walk is very beautiful and, with an experienced guide, it also becomes particularly picturesque and interesting.
Curiosities
During the walk you also pass through the Fratte. It is a tradition that for every new baby born in the municipal district a tree is planted. This is in compliance with the current law. It is not only typical for the municipality of Bosentino, but also for the municipality of Tenna. Difficult to accomplish, on the other hand, for larger and less forested municipalities, such as nearby Pergine Valsugana, which nonetheless names a shrub along the bike path after newborns.
