Cenadi (m 539) is a small town set on the slopes of the Serralta di San Vito (m 1024) and crossed by the provincial road between Squillace and Serravalle Centrale, where the road that climbs to the Fossa di Lupo Pass and then descends to the Tyrrhenian Sea comes off.
At the time of the great medieval hunts
Common opinion holds it to have been founded in the 12th century by the Norman Roger of Altavilla, who departed from here on his hunting trips. The settlement has the typical structure of medieval villages of passage, comb streets at the edge of today's Corso Umberto and a network of alleys.

The Matrice church is dedicated to the patron saint St. John the Baptist, depicted on the high altar in a polychrome wooden statue by a 16th-century Tuscan master. The church is the centerpiece of the patron saint celebrations on June 24: mass, procession, shows and fireworks.

In the center, visit the Museum of Peasant and Artisan Civilization, which materializes the past of an economy that is still eminently agricultural. Potatoes and beans, the products most benefited by the climate. To reiterate, the two specialties that recur in the festivals: pasta and potatoes, and beans alla pignatta. In early November, Sagra della castagna, a fruit that has a real culture behind it. Also related to the forest is the local production of the so-called strawberry liqueur.
