Founded according to tradition at the site of the 715 apparition of the Virgin Mary, the Benedictine Monastery grew from the 11th to the 14th becoming a landmark of the valley.
Benedictine work has kept the roots of cultural traditions in place. The tradition for Wine and Botany is alive in the small village. Frequent exhibitions and performances are hosted in the complex.
