Palio delle Contrade

Every year, for three full days, the Palio delle Contrade is the historical representation par excellence in the beautiful town of Fano. It re-enacts a famous marriage of the past between Pandolfo III Malatesta and Paola Bianca Malatesta. There will be many events: from the Procession in Costume, to the performances of Flag-wavers, from the Game of Tug-of-War to the shows with jesters and fire-breathers, there will be Archers competing in archery competitions and training sessions can be attended at the field of arms, not to forget to cheer for the valiant knights who will compete in the game of ring shooting. The various challenges and games will take place in areas rich in history and art, offering visitors the opportunity to fully experience Fano.
