Gulf Palio

It takes place every year on the first Sunday in August in the waters in front of the seafront promenade of the city of La Spezia! It is a rowing race among 13 boats handmade by local craftsmen with unique features that make them more agile and faster. The multi-day event begins with a night parade of the boroughs. The next day there will be the weighing and checking of the boats that will participate in the Palio that will take place the following day still. The fireworks display and award ceremony for the winners will close the event.
