The Pinafore

The Scamiciata is re-enacted as it was born on June 2, 1678. The re-enactment begins with the solemn Exposition of the banner of the Protectress on the civic clock tower, and continues with a pilgrimage in costume to the shrine of Pozzo Faceto, where there will be a religious ceremony, followed by a song of supplication for the Virgin to protect the community. The Historical Procession of "La Scamiciata" will be preceded by the town crier who recalls the battle and valor of the people of Fasano, who, with "the mighty help of the Titulars of the Land," succeeded in defeating the invaders, and invites the people to the solemn celebrations to remember the valor of the Fathers. This is followed by the dramatization of the battle between the people of Fasano and the Turks, real contests that fascinate and involve the spectators. After that the real celebration will begin: Fasano relives the most important moment in its history by celebrating its victory proudly!
