The Dumpling Festival

In the municipality of Teolo, an engaging festival is held every year that aims not only to promote a traditional local dish-the dumpling-but also to create an atmosphere of joy and conviviality. "La sagra del Gnocco" is held between the end of April and the beginning of May, and during the event one can witness all the stages of preparing a tasty dish of gnocchi. It is a huge job that more than 100 people take care of, from selecting the main ingredient, boiling and hand-peeling the potatoes, to preparing the dough and cutting the "bigolo." To complete the dishes, you can also choose sauces - tomato, meat sauce, butter and sage - also prepared on the spot. During the festival you have the opportunity to taste another dish belonging to the local gastronomic tradition, "Schissoto," a dessert made with wheat and corn flour and filled with dried figs. There is no shortage of opportunities for musical entertainment and animation.
