St. Andrew's Fair

Founded as an ancient market festival of geese and boots, this event has become, year after year, a reference point for lovers of Veneto fairs and festivals thanks to its authenticity that has remained intact despite more than 35 years of activity. The event, also known as the Ancient Market Fair of Geese and Boots, is promoted by the Portogruaro Municipal Administration in collaboration with Confartigianato del Veneto Orientale, the town's Pro Loco and economic and trade associations. The name of the St. Andrew's Fair "Antica Fiera Mercato delle Oche e degli Stivali" recalls the ancient market of Geese and Boots true protagonists of this festive moment and typical merchandise of exchange between peasants and the mayor. Edition after edition, tradition is respected and the typical goose dishes that the various restaurants offer reign supreme, perhaps accompanied by excellent doc wines from Lison-Pramaggiore.
