The Medieval Festival of Vicopisano

On the first weekend of September, the streets of Vicopisano - lit only by flashlights - are immersed in a magical medieval atmosphere. The town's taverns offer hot meals and glasses of wine according to ancient traditions, jesters, medieval performances, singing and dancing passionately and wildly involve everyone present. The "Medieval Feast" in Vicopisano attracts a large audience every year with its costumed processions and especially with the staging in front of the Praetorian Palace of a grand medieval dinner, during which tasty dishes prepared faithfully following the cookbooks popular at that time are served. At the entrance to the village it is possible to exchange euros for florins in order to take advantage of all the services offered during the event. The last day of the festival is especially dedicated to children with animations and games.
