The Erbaluce Grape Festival
An event dedicated to one of the white wines of excellence
In a nutshell
Every year, during the second week of September, the town of Caluso hosts an exciting event dedicated to fine local wine production and tradition.
Canavese enjoys a particular soil composition - of morainic origin - that allows the cultivation of a native grape variety of great taste, that of Erbaluce, from which Doc wines of extreme quality are obtained (Caluso Passito, Cuveè Erbaluce Spumante and Erbaluce di Caluso Doc and Docg).
For the occasion, there is no shortage of food and wine initiatives, concerts, exhibitions, conferences, traditional games with the holding of the Palio and the Coronation of the Albaluce Nymph-the goddess who, according to legend, generated the Erbaluce vine from her tears-who is carried in triumph on a chariot.
