The Maruni Festival

At the end of October, Alvese di Nogarole plunges into autumn weather. Nature is colored in warm tones, the air is crisp, and the chestnuts are ready. It is in this climate that the Festa dei Maruni, or marroni, to put it in Italian, takes place. A three-day festival with a market of local products, food stands with traditional dishes, lively evenings, and a rich program of entertainment and events for adults and children. Chestnuts are the real stars of the festival, present in many dishes and snacks, but they are accompanied by cold cuts, gnocchi, and cauci, a typical dish of this area. Among the most anticipated events are the "Maruni Bike - Pedatala tra i marunari" and the "Caminada dei Maruni" to enjoy the spectacle of the Little Dolomites Cimbre dressed in autumn colors.
