Sunday at the market in Antrodoco

Antrodoco is said to be at the exact center of Italy. This is confirmed by the obelisk that stands near the church of Santa Maria Extra Moenia. (Not everyone agrees, actually: some say the center is in Rieti or Urbino or Foligno...). Certainly the beautiful village becomes the center of the local community on market day, Sunday morning, when Piazza del Popolo comes alive with stalls, voices, scents.
