Käsefestival / Cheese Festival

Every year on the third weekend in March, Taufers becomes the capital of cheese with the Käsefestival, or Cheese Festival. For three days, the unmistakable scents, flavors and shapes brighten the atmosphere of Taufers in the Ahrntal Valley. The heart of the event is the exhibition, market and tastings, but the love of cheese knows no bounds. So here are added coocking shows, workshops, also designed for children and schools, and many other events. The cheese frenzy also sneaks into the area's restaurants: the festival's members enrich their menus with the cheeses that are the stars of these three days. A mouth-watering event!
