The Palio of Sant'Anselmo and the Biscuit Festival

Every year as per tradition in Bomarzo the Palio di Sant'Anselmo is held combined with the Sagra del Biscotto.It is a Palio that sees five contrade compete, the jockeys will ride bareback on the animal, the winning contrada will keep the banner (Palio) in its church. The event includes :the historical procession in costume , the Blessing of the jockeys, horses and cookies, as well as Eucharistic celebrations. The cookies, which are very similar to a sweet doughnut-shaped bread, will be distributed by the Pro Loco.
