Feast of St. Martin and Festival of New Wine - Vallerotonda
Wine, bruschetta, local specialties and lots of horns!
In a nutshell
The Feast of St. Martin of Vallerotonda is a convivial event celebrating the end of the grape harvest and its end result, the new wine. Food and wine walks through the alleys of the historic center to discover past places and genuine flavors, typical products and local dishes accompanied by a dose of good wine, folk music and street performers... Don't miss the historic Parade of the Horned. Here, however, horns do not have today's negative meaning, but are a symbol of courage and virility. The "cuckolds" will be recognizable because they will wear a reversed jacket and a coppola, walking through the streets of the village and arriving in the main square for the traditional Horn Race.
